Owner's Story
Since the introduction of the Economic Substance Act in the Cayman Islands in 2019, Alastair has led the way among service providers, delivering sophisticated and efficient Economic Substance solutions. Our expertise extends to a diverse range of Cayman-based entities, including Investment Managers of Hedge Funds and Private Equity Funds, Finance and Leasing Companies, Holding Companies, and Class B Banks. Alastair's approach ensures compliance with regulatory demands while maintaining operational excellence.
Alastair brings over 22 years of experience in the Investment Management industry, where he has excelled in managing investments and advising clients across both the UK and the Cayman Islands. Before founding Artemis Advisory, he served as the head of investment management at FFP Advisors. Earlier in his career, Alastair worked for the multinational business advisory firm, FTI Consulting, where he helped establish and manage a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) Registered Investment Adviser (“RIA”), FTI Capital Management.
Before his tenure at FTI Capital Management, Alastair dedicated 11 years to working alongside the Chief Investment Officer of a multibillion-dollar single-family office based in the Cayman Islands. During this period, he managed a diverse portfolio that included direct investments across various asset classes as well as investments through hedge funds and private equity fund structures. In addition to portfolio management, Alastair played a crucial role in risk analytics and monitoring, ensuring optimal performance and risk alignment within the portfolio.
Alastair began his career in London, where he initially worked within the private client group of Rathbone Group, LLC. He subsequently joined Rothschild Bank, serving as a portfolio manager. In this role, he managed assets for several ultra-high-net-worth European families, developing a deep expertise in sophisticated wealth management strategies and client service.
Alastair is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment in London and an active member of the Cayman Islands Directors Association. He also holds accreditation as a Director from The Chartered Governance Institute of Canada. Additionally, Alastair is registered as an Approved Director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, reflecting his commitment to maintaining high standards of governance and compliance in his professional roles.
Shane
Shane is a dedicated and results-driven finance professional with extensive experience in private equity fund accounting, auditing, and financial management.
Before working in Artemis Advisory, he served as a PE Fund Accountant Associate at MUFG, Shane was responsible for managing client inquiries, overseeing capital calls and distributions, calculating complex fees, and preparing detailed financial reports. His role demanded precision, strategic thinking, and strong analytical skills, all of which he delivers with a proactive and enthusiastic approach.
Prior to this, Shane worked as an Audit Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he developed a strong foundation in auditing practices, internal control assessments, and financial statement reviews. His experience also includes a role as a Finance Assistant at OneView Healthcare, where he supported financial reporting, data analysis, and statutory compliance.
Shane is currently pursuing his ACCA qualification, having completed 8 out of 13 exams, and holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Business & Management from Technological University Dublin. Known for his strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, Shane consistently adds value to his teams and projects. His passion for continuous learning and professional growth makes him a valuable asset in the dynamic world of finance.
Outside of work, Shane is an avid runner, swimmer, and PADI-certified scuba diver.
