Our registered office is at 68 Fort Street, George Town, PO Box 31726, Grand Cayman, KY1-1207, Cayman Islands, and our mailing address is 10 Market Street, Suite 924, Camana Bay, Grand Cayman, KY1-9006, Cayman Islands.
For the purposes of the Cayman Islands Data Protection Act (as revised), Artemis is the data controller of the personal data described in this notice.
What this notice covers
This notice applies to personal data we collect through this website, through enquiries you send us, and in the course of providing our services to clients. Where we process personal data on behalf of a client (for example, investor information supplied to us in a director or investment manager role), we do so under the client’s instructions and the terms of our engagement, and the client’s own privacy notice will also apply.
Personal data we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact details you give us, such as your name, firm, role, email address and telephone number.
- Enquiry details, including anything you tell us about a structure, fund or entity when you contact us.
- Engagement data needed to provide our services and meet our regulatory obligations, including identity verification and know-your-client documentation.
- Technical data collected automatically when you visit the site, such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed.
How we use personal data
We use personal data to respond to enquiries, to assess whether and how we can act for you, to provide and administer our services, to meet our legal and regulatory obligations (including anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing requirements), to maintain our records, and to run and secure this website.
We rely on one or more of the following lawful bases: your consent; the performance of a contract with you or steps taken at your request before entering into one; compliance with a legal obligation; and our legitimate interests in running our business, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We may share it with service providers who help us run the business (such as IT, email, document storage, website hosting and contact-form providers) under confidentiality obligations; with professional advisers; with fund administrators, counsel and other service providers to a structure where necessary to perform our role; and with regulators, courts or law enforcement where we are required to do so.
Some of these recipients are outside the Cayman Islands. Where personal data is transferred internationally we take steps to ensure it receives an appropriate level of protection.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data for as long as needed for the purposes described above. For client engagements that typically means the duration of the engagement plus the period required by Cayman Islands regulatory and anti-money laundering rules at least five years after the end of the relationship. Enquiry data that does not lead to an engagement is deleted within 12 months.
Your rights
Subject to the Data Protection Act, you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased or its use restricted in certain circumstances, to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing.
You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Ombudsman of the Cayman Islands if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take the risk seriously and review our measures regularly.
Cookies
This website uses only the cookies strictly necessary for it to function.
